Game Rules and Mechanics
The game mechanics are split between the World Events and Combat. Each have their own nuances and skills that can be used.
General Definitions
The world of 2079 is split across multitude of narratives, events, sessions, duration of which can rarely be predetermined. But to keep story consistent and entertaining it is split to 3 main parts.
Primary Narrative
[REDACTED] This is the main story of the game. The setting of where everything happens. This sets the tone, atmosphere and the world. To figure out the truth, the world and have impact. Completing the primary narrative is the goal of the game.
Secondary Narrative
Each of player characters have their own story. Some are still building it, others have come further, but each of these players continue to develop and understand how they fit into the world of 2079. Secondary narrative assigns a main quest to each of the players. Completing secondary narrative quest is not required, but may heavily impact the perspective of the world and the primary narrative.
World Events
World events are different side quests, events, storylines and random encounters that may or may not reveal some information about the character or the world. Completing them sometimes grant unique perks and bonuses based on outcomes and actions during these events. Remember, even failing may sometimes grant a unique perk.
It's All About the Story
Despite much of the outcomes being determined by the dice rolls, the game is about the story. The world of 2079 is designed to be not about winning or losing, but about the journey and the story that unfolds. It is about the players and their characters, and how they interact with the world and each other. It is about the choices they make and the consequences of those choices. The game is about the story they help shape together.
Note: Role-play is very much the essence of everything in the world. A better actor will have a higher chance of making it further than a player who relies solely on the dice rolls. Experiment, succeed or fail, again and again, and immerse yourself into the world you are creating.
